His Majesty, Ògíamẹ̀ Atúwàtse III CFR, ascended the revered throne of his forebears as the 21st Olu of Warri on the 21st of August 2021.

At a pivotal moment that called for transformational leadership, Ògíamẹ̀ Atúwàtse III became the youngest monarch in the over 500-year history of the Warri Kingdom. His Majesty’s reign is deeply rooted in the principles of righteousness and justice, with a steadfast commitment to the prosperity and well-being of the Itsekiri people, who regard him not only as the sovereign ruler of Warri Kingdom but also as a symbol of hope for future generations.

Ògíamẹ̀ Atúwàtse III began his education at NNPC Primary School in Warri and Adesoye College in Offa, Kwara State. His Majesty earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Political Science from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, followed by a Master of Science in Management from the Weatherhead School of Management at the same institution. Upon returning to Nigeria, His Majesty completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the Public Affairs Department of the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS). He later worked with Shell Nigeria Closed Pension Fund Administrator (SNCFPA) and Sahara Energy, gaining key experience in the energy sector that would influence his future leadership.

A visionary leader, Ògíamẹ̀ Atúwàtse III continues to actively strengthen diplomatic ties with the international community. Through his campaign for a 21st-century Warri Kingdom, His Majesty has elevated the rich cultural heritage and identity of the Itsekiri people, garnering global admiration as a prominent cultural ambassador.

As the Grand Patron of the Royal Iwere Foundation, His Majesty spearheads transformative initiatives that are driving the socio-economic development of Warri Kingdom. Through targeted programs in agriculture, health, business development, and education, the Foundation is addressing critical needs and creating opportunities for sustainable growth. These initiatives have empowered local communities, stimulated economic activity, and improved the quality of life for the Itsekiri people, positioning Warri as a model of progress and innovation in the Niger Delta. The Foundation's holistic approach fosters long-term development, ensuring a prosperous future for Warri Kingdom and its people.
